The Legacy of the 2009 Coup and US Interventionism in Honduras

16 years ago today, Honduran president Manuel Zelaya was deposed and forcibly exiled from the country through a military coup. The US’s direct and indirect support for the coup, and the right-wing regime that followed it, was one of the most significant instances of United States interventionism in Central America in this century.
